Sadio Doumbia is the champion of the $25,000 Internationale Herrentennismeisterschaften der Metropolregion Rhein-Necker um den MLP Cup 2018 held at the Racket Center in Nußloch.

In the pair’s first meeting, the 27-year-old unseeded Frenchman fought past fourth favourite Christopher Heyman from Belgium in Sunday’s singles final 7-6, 7-5. Doumbia sent down eight aces, winning 67 per cent of his first service points to seal victory in two hours and eight minutes.

By lifting his fourth ITF Pro Circuit trophy, Doumbia takes away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points. The former World No. 250 will move up 11 spots to World No. 479.
