MARIBOR, February 2, 2018

Slovenia will face Poland in Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Group II Europe/Africa held from 3 to 4 February 2018 on indoor hard court at Lukna Sports Hall in Maribor.

Aljaz Bedene and Hubert Hurkacz will open the tie on Saturday followed by the second singles rubber featuring Blaz Rola taking on Kamil Majchrzak.

On Sunday, Bedene and Rola will also team up for the doubles rubber facing Hubert Hurkacz and Marcin Matkowski ahead of the singles reverse rubbers.

“I expect a real fight, every point will count,” Bedene told. “Together with Blaz I will try to win two points on the first day. We think that we are in good shape and the surface should suit us pretty well.”

Slovenia’s World No. 110, Blaz Kavcic, will not be part of the line-up suffering from an injury.

“That’s a pity,” Rola commented. “However, I think that the crowd will support us that we are able to show our best tennis.”

Poland leads 2-1 in head-to-head records between the two nations.
