Two players from the Netherlands, one German and one Frenchman found their way into the semi-finals of the Kirschbaum International powered by Neusser REHA, a $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit event held at Tespo Sportpark in Kaarst.

Germany’s promising talent Marvin Möller headlined Friday’s evening action when he recovered from a one set deficit to beat fellow countryman Peter Torebko 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. The 19-year-old Hamburg native capitalized on four of his 12 break point opportunities, winning 83 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in one hour and 56 minutes. Möller will next play Sebastien Boltz. The French qualifier upset the tournament’s No. 5 Robin Kern of Germany 6-3, 6-7, 6-3.
“He has emotion and plays with heart, having a good touch with his shots. He is kind of a counter-puncher on the court,” tournament director Marc Raffel commmented.
The second semi-final will be an all-Dutch-affair with former World No. 52 Igor Sijsling taking on Botic van de Zandschulp. Sijsling knocked off the highest ranked player left in the singles draw, Boy Westerhof, 7-6, 7-5 in one hour and 44 minutes. Van de Zandschulp eased past Mick Lescure of France 6-2, 6-2 in just under one hour of play.
In the doubles final, Remi Boutillier and Hugo Voljacques of France will play the German tandem of Kai Lemstra and Christoph Negritu.
