Marco Trungelliti and Simone Bolelli will comptet in Sunday’s singles final of the €43,000 Citta’ Della Disfida Open in Barletta. Trungelliti edged past #NextGenATP Spaniard Jaume Munar 7-6, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The 28-year-old qualifier from Argentina won 78 per cent of his first service points and broke his opponent four times to advance in one hour and 45 minutes.
Bolelli emerged victorious from the all-Italian-affair with qualifier Gian Marco Moroni 6-4, 6-2. The World No. 163 from Bologna didn’t face a break point, converting three of his own to prevail after one hour and 27 minutes.
Trungelliti is seeking his maiden title on the ATP Challenger Tour. Bolelli could lift his 13th trophy, his first since 2014. The pair will meet for the first time.
Earlier in the day, Denys Molchanov from Ukraine and Igor Zelenay of Slovakia captured the doubles title. The No. 3 seeds cruised past the tournament’s top duo Ariel Behar from Uruguay and Argentine Maximo Gonzalez 6-1, 6-2. The final lasted only 56 minutes.
