Sell, who only lost one set en route to the title match and knocked out the tournament’s No. 1 Kaichi Uchida of Japan in the quarterfinals, capitalized on all of his four break point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and eight minutes.

The World No. 521 lifted his third ITF Futures title following his triumphs in Claremont in September last year and Los Angeles earlier this season. Sell takes away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points.

“Well, it was a great week. I felt like my level was really high all week long. I had a tough draw and I played really well from day one which gave me confidence. I think the courts and the conditions were ideal for my game style so I took advantage of it,” Sell told.

“The tournament was really stacked and I had to play very well to even give myself the chance to be in the finals.  The finals was tough cause of the wind.  It was hard to find my best tennis but I fought hard and eventually was comfortable with it.  The tournament organization was amazing and I think all of us players felt very welcomed.”
