The list of participants in the men’s and women’s singles tournaments at Roland Garros 2018, which will be played from Sunday 27th May to Sunday 10th June, has now been revealed.
104 players are directly admitted in the final draw for the men’s singles (ATP rankings on 16th April 2018). Ten French players will go straight into the men’s singles main draw: Lucas Pouille (No.11), Adrian Mannarino (No.26), Richard Gasquet (No.34), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (No.35), Gaël Monfils (No.42), Benoît Paire (No.48), Julien Benneteau (No.57), Gilles Simon (No.69), Pierre-Hugues Herbert (No.82) and Jérémy Chardy (No.84).
Three players benefit from a protected ranking: Andreas Haider-Maurer (AUT), Yoshihito Nishioka (JPN) and Steve Darcis (BEL).
The rest of the 128 places in the men’s singles draw will be filled by 16 qualifiers and 8 wildcards.
In the women’s singles, six of the 108 players entered directly into the draw have a protected ranking. They are: Serena Williams (USA), Victoria Azarenka (BLR), Saisai Zheng (CHN), Bethanie Matteks-Sands (USA), Kristina Kucova (SVK) and Vania King (USA).
Four French women will go straight into the main draw for the women’s singles: Caroline Garcia (No.7), Kristina Mladenovic (No.20), Alizé Cornet (No.35) and Océane Dodin (No.102).
The rest of the 128 places in the women’s singles draw will be filled by 12 qualifiers and 8 wildcards.
