Five players booked their spot in the quarterfinals of the $75,000 Tunis Open on Wednesday. Second seeded Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili defeated #NextGenATP Australian Alexei Popyrin 7-5, 6-4.

The highest ranked player left in the singles draw of the ATP Challenger clay-court event withstood seven aces, hitting one of his own and broke the teenager’s serve four times to advance in one hour and 18 minutes. Basilashvili will next take on Guido Andreozzi of Argentina, who edged past Egor Gerasimov from Belarus 6-4, 6-3.

The tournament’s No. 7 Pedro Sousa beat Jurgen Zopp of Estonia 6-2, 6-2. The 29-year-old Portuguesa was in command throughout the 59 minutes encounter, capitalizing on all of his five break point chances. Sousa now awaits the winner of the match between compatriot Joao Domingues and Jozef Kovalik of Slovakia.

Corentin Moutet fought past German lucky loser Daniel Masur 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. The 18-year-old Frenchman outpointed his opponent 99-86 to prevail after two hours and three minutes. Next up for Moutet will be either countryman Maxime Janvier or No. 5 seed Thomas Fabbiano of Italy.

Lukas Rosol, who battled through the qualifying, got the better of Benjamin Bonzi of France, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The 32-year-old from the Czech Republic converted five of his 12 break point opportunities to secure victory in exactly two hours of play. Rosol will next play the winner of the match between Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver and sixth seeded Portuguese Gastao Elias.
