BERGAMO, June 19, 2018
Riccardo Bellotti of Italy captured his 30th singles career title on the ITF Pro Circuit becoming the player with the most Futures trophies under his belt. Lamine Ouahab from Morocco and Attila Balazs celebrated 29 victories.
Bellotti won the $15,000 Trofeo Azimut held on clay courts of the Tennis Club Città dei Mille in Bergamo. The 26-year-old defeated Nik Razborsek of Slovenia 6-4, 6-3 in Saturday’s final. Bellotti converted four of his nine break point chances to seal victory in one hour and 17 minutes.
The former World No. 199, who struggled with injuries at his right hand in recent times and was forced to undergo surgery, dropped in the ATP rankings to World No. 553.
“Bergamo is one of the best Futures I’ve ever participated in, there’s a really good organization,” said Bellotti, who also took the title on home soil at the Tennis Club in Padova last week. He climbed 42 spots to World No. 511 on Monday.
