Mixed Feelings For Ymer Brothers At Bastad Challenger

Elias Ymer lost in the first round in Bastad

BASTAD, July 10, 2018

Juan-Ignacio Londero continues his good run of form by knocking out No. 2 seed Elias Ymer in the first round of the €43,000 Bastad Challenger. The World No. 170  from Argentina, who clinched his second ATP Challenger title in Marburg last Saturday, won 6-1, 6-4 on Tuesday afternoon.

Londero saved two of the three break points he faced, capitalizing on four of his own chances to secure victory in one hour and nine minutes. The 24-year-old Buenos Aires resident will next take on compatriot Carlos Berlocq.

Elias’ younger brother Mikael advanced to the second round. The 19-year-old Swede fought past Zdenek Kolar from the Czech Republic 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. Ymer won 52 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 55 minutes. Next up for the teenager will be sixth seeded Frenchman Calvin Héméry.
