The list of participants in the singles tournament at the inaugural Isar Open, which will be played from 4 to 12 August 2018, has now been revealed. Five top-100 players will lead the line-up of the €127,000 ATP Challeger clay-court event at the Tennis Club Großhesselohe.
Jiri Vesely from the Czech Republic is the highest ranked player, who entered the tournament. The World No. 73 advanced to the fourth round in Wimbledon, losing to Rafael Nadal, and finished runner-up at the Neckar Cup in Heilbronn to Rudolf Molleker earlier this season.
Vesely will be joined by Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay, Italian veteran Paolo Lorenzi as well as a strong German cotingent, led by Florian Mayer and Yannick Hanfmann.
Casper Ruud of Norway as well as Spaniards Carlos Taberner and Pedro Martínez Portero will represent the young guns of the tennis tour. The latter recently clinched his maiden ATP Challenger crown in Bastad.
