Mick Lescure is the champion of the 24th edition of the Open De Tenis Ciudad De Pozoblanco – Memorial Fabián Dorado. The 25-year-old Frenchman defeated No. 2 seeded Spaniard David Perez Sanz in Sunday’s singles final of the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit hard-court event in Pozoblanco, a town in the province of Córdoba, southern Spain.
Lescure, who only dropped one set en route to the title match, struck seven aces and broke his opponent’s serve three times to secure a 7-6(6), 6-2 victory in one hour and 44 minutes. By clinching his fourth ITF Futures title, his first of the season, the No. 4 seed takes away $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points.
Lescure also won the doubles title alsongside Spaniard Andres Artunedo Martinavarro. The unseeded duo upset No. 3 seeds Evan Hoyt of Great Britain and Darko Jandric from Serbia 6-7(3) 6-4, 10-6 in Saturday’s final.
