The final has been set at the € 42,500 ATP Challenger in Recanati.
First favourite Ricardas Berankis defeated Marton Fucsovics, winning 6-4, 6-3. The 25-year-old Lithuanian won 70% of his first service points and capitalized on five of his 11 break point opportunities to seal victory in one hour and 24 minutes. Berankis has reached his first final since the ATP Challenger in Andria in November last year.
He will meet Mirza Basic for the third time. The 24-year-old from Bosnia-Herzegovina defeated third seed Michal Przysiezny, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Basic fired 12 aces and capitalized on four of his 10 break points to reach his first final since Wroclaw in February. It was also the place of the finalist’s last meeting. Back then, Basic celebrated his first win over Berankis.
Earlier the day, second seeded pair of Divij Sharan and Ken Skupski captured the doubles title, winning 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 against Ilija Bozaljac and Flavio Cipolla. The final lasted one hour and 36 minutes.
