Bernard Tomic has clinched his first title since lifting the ATP World Tour trophy in Bogota in 2015. The 25-year-old Australian has become the first champion of the Rafa Nadal Open Banc Sabadell. Tomic rallied past Matthias Bachinger from Germany 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(3) in Sunday evening’s final of the €43,000 ATP Challenger hard-court event.
Under the floodlights at the Rafa Nadal Academy, the No. 6 seed sent down eight aces, winning 71 per cent of his first service points to prevail after two hours and 34 minutes.

By lifting his third ATP Challenger career title, his first on European soil, Tomic takes away €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points.
