Michael Mmoh from the United States edged out top seeded Spaniard Marcel Granollers to win the trophy at the $100,000 Wells Fargo Tiburon Challenger. The 20-year-old from Florida saved all of the five break points he faced and capitalized on two of his own chances to secure a 6-3, 7-5 victory in one hour and 49 minutes.

Mmoh, who recently won the Columbus Challenger, making it two in a row. “I believe this elevates you to the top 100 in the world,” said tournament director Brendan Curry.
Although Mmoh won in two straight sets, it was a close match, and he acknowledged Granollers for his performance. “I’m really happy to compete on the same tennis court as him. It’s an honor,” he said.
Hach Verdugo/Saville clinch doubles title
Doubles finalists in Tiburon
In the men’s doubles final Hans Hach Verdugo from Mexico and Luke Saville of Australia prevailed to take the championship, after going through two qualifying matches to make their way into the main competition.
The duo defeated the all-Spanish combination of Gerard Granollers and Pedro Martínez 6-3, 6-2 in 62 minutes.
“This tournament was tough, and today’s win was a great accomplishment,” said Hach Verdugo.
