HOUSTON, November 17, 2018
Semi-final Saturday is on the horizon at Oracle Challenger Series in Houston. On the women’s side, wild card Peng Shuai will take on US-American Jessica Pegula, who has been in top form this week and is also playing in the women’s doubles final of the $125,000 WTA event. 18-year-old Sofya Zhuk will match up against US-American qualifier Lauren Davis.
For the men, No. 2-seeded Bradley Klahn from the United States will take on Dominik Köpfer of Germany, who knocked out the tournament’s No. 3 and ATP Tour all-time ace leader Ivo Karlovic 6-1, 6-4. The 24-year-old left-hander broke the Croat’s serve three times to seal victory in 53 minutes. Kamil Majchrzak of Poland will face US-American wild card entry Roy Smith, a sophomore at Baylor University.
