The ATP Tour event in Shenzhen will be relocated to Zhuhai according to the recently published 2019 Calendar. The ATP 250 hard-court tournament will take place from 23 to 29 September 2019, in the same week as the Chengdu Open. The event will feature a prize money increase from $734,000 to $931,335.

The Shenzhen Open debuted in 2014 and has crowned as champions ATP Tour Top 10 stalwarts, including Andy Murray in 2014 and Tomas Berdych the following two years. David Goffin captured the title in 2017 and Yoshihito Nishioka in October this year.

Zhuhai impresses with world-class tennis facility

The Zhuhai Open has welcomed the ATP Challenger Tour’s best to China since its inception in 2016. Located on Hengqin Island, adjacent to the coastal region of Macau, the 60,000 square metre complex includes a 5,000-seat centre court, five match courts and 12 training courts, all of which have lights for evening play. The $84 million project was completed in just eight months in 2015. Alex Bolt clinched his second ATP Challenger career title here in March this year. The venue also hosts the WTA Elite Trophy in late October.
