2019 Hamburg Open Winner To Be Crowned “European Champion”

HAMBURG, February 28, 2019

The champion of the 2019 Hamburg Open will be crowned winner of the “Open European Championships” at the same time. This was announced by the new organizers of the ATP 500 event Sandra and Peter-Michael Reichel of the Matchmaker Sports GmbH at a press conference on Monday in the presence of sports senator Andy Grote, the president of Tennis Europe (TE), Vladimir Dmitriev, and German Tennis Federation (DTB) sports director Klaus Eberhard.

From 22 to 28 July 2019, the Hamburg Open welcomes 32 top singles players and 16 doubles teams to the summer clay-court event as one of the 13 ATP Tour 500 stops. The tournament is held in the heart of Hamburg at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center, which features a retractable roof stadium seating 13,200 spectators – making it the largest centre court in Germany.
