Marterer And Molleker Receive Wild Cards Into BMW Open

MUNICH, April 26, 2019

Last year’s Munich semi-finalist Maximilian Marterer and 18-year-old Rudolf Molleker have been awarded the final two wild cards into the main draw of this year’s BMW Open by FWU. This was announced by tournament director Patrik Kühnen during a press conference held at the venue of the MTTC Iphitos on Friday morning.

“We wanted to set an example, giving a chance to young German players,” Kühnen as well as organizers Michael Mronz explained their decision.

One day ahead of the start of the ATP 250 tournament, top seed and two-time defending champion Alexander Zverev competed in a celebrity doubles match alongside German fashion model and television host Lena Gercke, taking on Sascha’s brother Mischa and Patrik Kühnen on Centre Court.

Munich champion to receive BMW Z4 Roadster

The car for this year’s Munich champion has also been revealed. Besides the prize money and 250 ATP-Ranking points, the winner will take home a brand new BMW Z4 Roadster.
