Maria Sharapova accepted a wild card into the main draw of the fourth edition of the Mallorca Open to be held from 17 to 23 June 2019 at the Santa Ponsa Tennis Club. This was announced by the organizer’s of the WTA International event on Monday.

Former World No. 1 Sharapova will return to the tour for the first time since reaching the second round in St. Petersburg in February. The 32-year-old from Russia will join a strong line-up led by top seed Angelique Kerber and Victoria Azarenka as well as US-American teenager Amanda Anisimova, who advanced to the semi-finals at Roland Garros. Sharapova will make her first appearance on Center Court on Tuesday.
