M15 Marburg GER – Louis Wessels delights home crowd in Marburg

The 20th edition of the Marburg Open was held at the venue of the Tennisverein 1965 Marburg e.V. The tournament, which was part of the ATP Challenger Tour over the last nine years, is back on the ITF World Tennis Tour. The ATP Challenger event moved to Ludwigshafen and held its inaugural edition last week.

Top seed Louis Wessels captured the trophy of the Marburg Open 2019.

In the stage of the final four, the 20-year-old German benefited from a walkover against No. 4 seeded Mauricio Echazu from Peru.

19-year-old Jesper de Jong emerged victorious from the all-Dutch semi-final encounter versus No. 2 seeded Ryan Nijboer in two sets.

Striking seven aces in the championship match, Bielefeld native Wessels secured a 7-6, 7-6 win after two hours and four minutes, to celebrate his fourth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

During the ceremony, Wessels commented about the deciding moments in the tiebreaks: „I played more aggressive at the end and took control of the match“.

He also praised his final opponent: „He will win more tournaments like this in the future“.

M25 Ajaccio FRA – Laurent Lokoli clinches back-to-back titles

Following his triumph in Bakio last week, Laurent Lokoli won the championships title of the Open D’Ajaccio, hosted at Mezzavia Tennis Club. The Corsican celebrated his third trophy on the ITF Pro Circuit in 2019.

The 24-year-old made the last step to the final in beating French Hugo Grenier in a tough three-set encounter.

ITF-entry Quentin Robert from France battled past Argentinean Augustin Velotti, who was ranked ITF No. 2 as a junior, in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Making three points more than his contemporary rival by the score of 111-108, unseeded Lokoli sealed a 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 victory after two hours and 17 minutes. The Bastia native lifted his ninth overall trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Casinalbo ITA – Clay-court specialist Christian Lindell prevails in Italy

Rio de Janeiro native Christian Lindell, who is representing Sweden got the trophy of the XXXVI Memorial E. Fontana, Il Trofeo Sermovech, which was held at Club La Meridiana in Casinalbo.

In the semi-finals without any seeded player, 27-year-old Lindell fought past left handed Mircea-Alexandru Jecan from Romania in straight sets.

Christopher O’Connell from Australia got victorious versus Dutch Gijs Brouwer in the tie-break of the third set.

Both finalists broke their opponents service for one time. After two hours and 27 minutes, Lindell secured a 7-6,5-7, 6-3 victory to celebrate his 12th exclusively on clay court achieved title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Getxo ESP – Second title of the season for Jules Okala

The XXIX Torneo Internacional de Tenis de Getxo, hosted at Real Club Jolaseta, concluded with the victory of Jules Okala.

The 21-year-old French advanced from the bottom half of the draw in defeating Colombian No. 7 seed Alejandro Gomez in two sets.

Top seeded Spaniard Carlos Boluda-Purkiss rallied past his countryman Pol Martin Tiffon in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Winning 77 per cent of the points on his first service and 74 per cent on second serve, No. 8 seeded Okala got the victory with 6-4, 6-1, lasting 70 minutes. He lifted his fifth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on clay court.

M25 Qujing CHN – Yan Bai clinches his fourth season title on Chinese soil

Yan Bai from China got the crown of the Qujing Open 2019, which were hosted at Qujing City Fitness Center Tennis Center.

The former No. 10 in ITF Junior rankings booked the spot in the title match in beating Japanese Jumpei Yamasaki in two sets.

Chinese No. 4 seed Fajing Sun, who clinched the trophy in Kunshan last week, rallied down top seeded Tsung-Hua Yang from Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Breaking his 22-year-old opponent for four times without losing a service game, No. 2 seeded Bai claimed the final win with 6-3, 6-1 after 70 minutes. The 30-year-old lifted his 18th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, the fourth in 2019.

M15 Buenos Aires ARG – Genaro Alberto Olivieri captures his maiden title

20-year-old Genaro Alberto Olivieri from Argentina is the champion of the Copa Ciudad Vicente Lopez, which was held at Florida Tenis Club in Buenos Aires.

The former No. 8 in ITF Junior rankings knocked off his No. 4 seeded compatriot Hernan Casanova in the stage of the last four in three tough sets.

No. 2 seed Juan Pablo Ficovich, who clinched the Trophy in Buenos Aires last week, took the last step to the final in beating Nicolas Alvarez from Peru in straight sets.

No. 7 seeded Olivieri emerged victorious from the all-Argentinean championship match against his 22-year-old rival, to seal a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 win after three hours and 8 minutes. The Bragado native celebrated his first singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Telfs AUT – Sandro Ehrat celebrates his fourth title of the season

Top seed Sandro Ehrat triumphed at the Raiffeisen Cup Telfs 2019, hosted at the venue of TC Telfs, to lift his fourth trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour in 2019.

After a hip surgery sidelined him from professional tennis for two years, he started a great comeback, making his debut for the Swiss Davis Cup-Team in 2018.

In the semi-finals, the 28-year-old battled past Petr Nouza from the Czech Republic in three sets.

21-year-old local hero Alexander Erler, who entered the tournament on position five, defeated Czech No. 4 seed Vit Kopriva in straight sets.

Lasting two hours and 46 minutes, Ehrat outpointed his Austrian rival by the score of 124-114 to get the final win with 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. The Schaffhausen native clinched his 10th title on the ITF Pro Circuit.

M15 Almaty KAZ – Andrey Golubev ends title drought 

The Almaty ITF International Tournament, held at Tennis Center „ACE“, culminated in the triumph of veteran Andrey Golubev. In addition to his championship in the singles competition, the former No. 33 of the World clinched the doubles title together with Konstantin Kravchuk from Russia.

The 31-year-old Russia native, who is representing Kazakhstan, stopped the way of his No. 4 seeded doubles partner Kravchuk in the semi-finals in two clear sets.

26-year-old Denis Yevseyev, who entered the competition on position two, set the all-Kazakh championship match in defeating No. 3 seeded US-American teenager Sebastian Korda in three sets.

Capitalizing on five of his six break point chances by dropping one service game, No. 7 seeded Golubev sealed a 6-1, 6-2 victory after 52 minutes.

He lifted his first trophy since his last championship in 2016. Besides his ATP 500 title in Hamburg 2010, he celebrated seven tournament victories on the ATP Challenger Tour and five on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Vilnius LTU – Veteran Ivan Nedelko clinches his sixth title of the season

Ivan Nedelko got the trophy of the President Cup 2019, which was hosted in celebrating 100 years of tennis in Lithuania at Bernardinai Garden Tennis Courts in Vilnius.

The 33-year-old Russian made the last step to the final in beating his 21-year-old countryman Denis Klok in three sets.

No. 4 seeded teenager Savriyan Danilov from Russia knocked off French No. 7 seed Laurent Rochette in the semi-finals in two sets.

St. Petersburg native Nedelko outpointed his 19-year-old opponent after two hours and 33 minutes by the score of 104-80, to get the final win with 6-4, 5-7, 6-1. The top seed lifted his 25th exclusively on clay court achieved trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Cancun MEX – Teenager Nicolas Mejia captures back-to-back titles in Cancun

19-year-old Nicolas Mejia clinched the title of the Cancun Tennis Cup, which was held at Cancun Tennis Academy. After his title win at the same place last week, he lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The Colombian No. 3 seed, who was ranked No. 4 in ITF Juniors last year, battled past top seeded Jack Draper from Great Britain in the stage of the final four. 17-year-old left handed Draper, who was ITF No. 7 in last year’s junior rankings, had to retire in the second set at the score of 3-4 after winning the first set in the tiebreak.

No. 4 seed Gage Brymer emerged victorious from the all-US American semi-final encounter versus Nicolas Moreno de Alboran in three sets.

Lasting one hour and 32 minutes, Florida resident Mejia won 78 per cent of the points on his first service to claim a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the title match.

M15 Lima PER – Oscar Jose Gutierrez gets the crown in Peru

The ITF M15 Lima tournament, held at Club De Regatas „Lima“ Filial San Antonio, concluded with the championship of Oscar Jose Gutierrez.

The 26-year-old Brazilian rallied past Matias Soto from Chile in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Argentinean runner-up Facundo Juarez, who entered the tournament on position seven, advanced from the top-half of the draw in beating No. 5 seeded Conner Huertas del Pino from Peru in two clear sets.

In the championship match, No. 2 seeded Gutierrez broke his 21-year-old rival for four times without losing a service game, to get the victory after 84 minutes with 6-3, 6-1.

After his maiden triumph in Brasilia last year, the Porto Alegre resident lifted his second trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Idanha-a-Nova POR – Fred Gil prevails on home soil

Veteran Fred Gil triumphed at the Circuito Internacional de Tenis de Idanha-a-Nova II, which was hosted at Clube de Tenis de Idanha-a-Nova.

The 34-year-old Portuguese, who entered the tournament on position three, battled past German No. 7 seed Robert Strombach in the semi-finals in two sets.

Unseeded Spaniard David Jorda Sanchis booked the spot in the title match in beating No. 8 seeded Jonathan Gray from Great Britain in straight sets.

Capitalizing on four of his six break point opportunities without dropping a service game, Lisboa native Gil sealed a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the title match after 72 minutes. The former No. 62 of the World celebrated his 13th singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour additional to his six titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.

M15 Tabarka TUN – Enrico Dalla Valle clinches his second trophy of the season

Top seed Enrico Dalla Valle is the champion of the Magic Tours tournament, held at the Thabraca Magic Hotel. After his maiden title in Alkmaar two weeks ago, he celebrated his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The 21-year-old Italian made the last step to the final in defeating Argentinean No. 4 seed Nicolas Alberto Arreche, who claimed the trophy in Tabarka the week before, in two close sets.

No. 2 seeded Manuel Pena Lopez from Argentina knocked off Italian Marco Miceli in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Lasting two hours and eight minutes, Ravenna native Dalla Valle broke his contemporary opponent for three times by losing one service game to get the final win with 6-4, 6-4.

M15 Norman USA – Mark Whitehouse gets victorious in Oklahoma

Mark Whitehouse from Great Britain got the crown of the Norman Open Series Men’s 15K, held at OU Tennis Club.

The 26-year-old rallied past No. 5 seeded Austin Rapp from the United States in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

The tournament’s No. 6 Ezekiel Clark advanced in the all-US American semi-final versus Ronan Jachuck in two sets.

Firing 10 aces in the two hours and five minutes lasting encounter, No. 2 seeded Whitehouse claimed a 7-6, 6-4 victory against his 20-year-old rival, to lift his third trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
