Querrey And Collins Commit To The 2019 Hawaii Open

Danielle Collins, 2019 Australian Open semi-finalist and 2017 Wimbledon semi-finalist Sam Querrey have committed to play in the 2019 Hawaii Open Tennis Tournament, presented by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. They join US Open semi-finalist and ATP World Tour No.7 Kei Nishikoriand 3-time Grand Slam winner and WTA No. 13 Angelique Kerber. The Hawaii Open will be held Dec. 26-28, in Honolulu.

Danielle Collins had a career breakout in 2018, finishing her first Top 50 season when she made it to the semi-finals at Miami Open and Silicon Valley Classic. Before turning pro, Collins played for the University of Virginia and won two NCAA singles titles for the Cavaliers.

“I am so excited to return to the beautiful island of Oahu for the third time to play in this fun event!” said Collins. “The Hawaii Open is a great way to kick off my 2020 season and I can’t wait to meet all the fans!”

Since turning pro in 2006, Sam Querrey has achieved a career-high ranking of No.11 in 2018, finishing 12 straight seasons in the Top 100. In 2017, he advanced to his first Grand Slam semi-final during Wimbledon, making him the first American Grand Slam semi-finalist since Andy Roddick in 2009. Querrey has 10 singles titles and has made it to eight finals in his career.
