Rain caused a delay on Wednesday morning, suspending some matches at the Tiburon Challenger until afternoon and postponing late-afternoon matches until Thursday.
Top seed Denis Kudla overcame Swiss qualifier Henri Laaksonen, winning 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. The world number 73 from the United Stated withstood nine aces and converted six of his 13 break points to reach the quarterfinals after one hour and 52 minutes. Kudla set a clash with seventh seed Blaz Rola, who cruised past Dimitar Kutrovsky, winning 6-3, 6-1 in just one hour of play.
Thursday will be action-packed with four doubles matches rescheduled: [Q] Adrien Bossel (SUI)/Quentin Halys (FRA) vs. Brydan Klein (GBR)/Jose Statham (NZL); Canadians Philip Bester and Peter Polansky vs. Americans Mitchell Krueger and Connor Smith; Dennis Novikov (USA)/J[3] Julio Peralta (CHI) vs. Chase Buchanan (USA)/Blaz Rola (SLO); and Dustin Brown (GER)/Denis Kudla (USA) vs. [WC] Andre Goransson (SWE)Florian Lakat (FRA). Some winners will play catch-up with second matches later in the day.
