Choinski Claims Title At Bad Salzdetfurth Open

BAD SALZDETFURTH, October 14, 2019

Jan Choinski has clinched his first title of the season by lifting the trophy of the 2019 Bad Salzdetfurth Open. The No. 2 seed of the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event, held on carpet at the Tennisverband Niedersachsen-Bremen in Bad Salzdetfurth, defeated Stefan Seibert of Germany 6-3, 6-1 in Sunday’s singles final.

Choinski sent down four aces and won 66 per cent of his first service points to secure victory in one hour and 10 minutes. The 23-year-old was representing Germany from the beginning of his career until the end of 2018. Choinski is currently playing for Great Britain. By winning his ninth title on the ITF Pro Circuit, he earned $2,160 in prize money as well as 10 ATP Ranking points. Choinski will stay in Germany this week, competing at the Wolffkran Open ATP Challenger in Ismaning.

On Saturday, Seibert took the doubles title alongside his German partner Lasse Muscheites. The duo fought past Daniel Altmaier from Germany and Jan Choinski 2-6, 6-3, 11-9. The encounter lasted one hour and three minutes.

The tournament has been organized by the Brunswiek Marketing Gmbh for the first time. The company is also responsible for the Sparkassen Open ATP Challenger in Braunschweig. “We were very pleased with the line-up and the quality of matches,” tournament director Volker Jäcke stated in a press release and added that the ITF World Tennis Tour event will return to Bad Salzdetfurth next year.
