The Australian Open and Emirates Airline have renewed their highly successful global partnership.

The new multi-year deal elevates Emirates to Associate Partner of the Australian Open, as well as the Official International Airline.

In 2019, the Australian Open delivered Emirates international brand exposure to a global broadcast audience of more than 900 million homes across 220 territories and on more than 75 channels, reinforcing the worldwide reach of the first Grand Slam of the year.

“We are delighted to extend our highly successful global partnership with Emirates, one of the world’s most prestigious international brands,” Australian Open Tournament Director and Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said.

“Few events have become such an ingrained fixture on the national sporting calendar as the Australian Open, and over the past five years Emirates and Tennis Australia have worked successfully to connect people to this exciting tournament.”

“Much like the tennis, we have a truly international presence, with two decades of daily flights from Australia to our hub in Dubai and onto more than 150 destinations. This level of commitment to the Australian market is what we hope to bring to this renewed partnership.” said Barry Brown, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President, Australasia.

Tuesday 21 January will be Emirates Day at the AO, with activations planned across the entire precinct, from Federation Square to Richmond Station. Emirates will also have a focus on families, presenting both the expanded AO Ballpark along with the popular Kids Tennis Day.

Bigger than ever in 2020, the AO Ballpark is set to take over Birrarung Marr with a host of fun activities on offer for kids of all ages, including an Aqua Play Park, Giant Obstacle Course, Go-Karts, 60m Zip-line, live entertainment and family friendly food offerings.

Kids Tennis Day on Saturday 18 January is all about the kids, with the entire precinct opened up and turned into a family fun zone, all alongside the superstars of tennis as they go through their final preparations before the Australian Open begins.
