The Reial Club de Tennis Barcelona-1899 captured the title of the 46th Spanish National Team Championships, winning the final on Saturday against Club de Tenis Chamartín 4-0 . The competition took place at the venue of the Real Club de Polo in Barcelona from 5 to 7 November.
The Catalan team won the first four matches of the final. Marcel Granollers defeated Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo 7-6, 4-6, 6-3; Inigo Cervantes beat Javier Martí 7-5, 6-4; Gerard Granollers ousted Quino Munoz 6-0, 6-1 and Albert Montanes made the last point, winning 6-2, 6-4 over Roberto Ortega.
The team from Barcelona is the dominant one in the history, defending the title and gaining their 32nd overall. Deportiva Stadium Casablanca de Zaragoza will descend to second division, losing the Play-Offs against Cercle Sabadellès 1856 1-4.
