STUTTGART, February 21, 2020
Milos Raonic and Gael Monfils will play at this year’s MercedesCup to take place from 6 to 14 July 2020 at the Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart.
Monfils, who already clinched two titles the this season at Montpellier and Rotterdam, is following Alexander Zverev’s commitment the second Top 10 player to join the line-up of the ATP 250 grass-court event. The 33-year-old Frenchman is currently ranked World No. 9. Monfils reached the final in Stuttgart 10 years ago, when the event was still held on clay.
“Stuttgart is a very special tournament with a special flair, so I always enjoy coming back there. A title win at the MercedesCup would be extremely important to me,” Monfils stated in a press release.
Big-serving Raonic also feels comfortable in the capital and largest city of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The 29-year-old Canadian finished runner-up to Roger Federer in 2018 and made it into the semi-finals last year.
