MUNICH, March 18, 2020 (Press Release)
The BMW Open by FWU, to be held on April 25th to May 3rd, will not take place for the time being. Today’s decision by the ATP to cancel all tournaments until June 7 due to the coronavirus is shared by the organizers of the traditional Munich tournament and perceived as correct.
“The situation is very unfortunate for all tennis fans. Even if it is difficult, in the end it is a matter of responsibility towards the spectators and the players as well as all those involved in the tournament,” organizer Michael Mronz stated in a press release. “Everyone’s health and safety is top priority.”
Within the ATP, there are considerations to reschedule any cancelled tournaments later in the year. The BMW Open by FWU have already expressed their interest in this. Organizers added to stay tuned for further announcements regarding tickets for this year’s event.
