“It is nice that the series will start soon. This is a great sign for everyone and a great motivation at the same time. We have a great mix of women in the field from players with a WTA ranking to next-generation talents and wildcard players,” said DTB Head of Women’s Tennis Barbara Rittner.

Germany’s Davis Cup captain Michael Kohlmann added: “The series gives many players the opportunity to play competitive tennis again, keeping them fit and ready when the international tennis tours will resume.”

In times of the corona pandemic, all matches will be played under special conditions. The health of the players and everyone involved, as well as compliance with the requirements of the federal and state governments have top priority. Matches are only played with a chair umpire but without line judges and ball kids.
