STARNBERG, June 11, 2020
Professional tennis will return to Switzerland. Swiss Tennis announced on Thursday the launch of the N-Series powered by Swiss Tennis. The first tournament will be hosted in Biel on June 15. Further events are scheduled to be held in Neuchatel, Bienne, Derendingen and Verbier
Only players from Switzerland are allowed to compete in the tournaments. Each tournament offers a total prize money of at least CHF 15,000. “It is important to us to support the athletes as best as possible in this situation without international competitions,” René Stammbach, President of Swiss Tennis, explains in a press release.
Last month, the ATP extended the suspension of the ATP Tour through to July 31, 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
