Tannenhof Resort German Men’s Series: Altmaier Wins TVM Open

STARNBERG, June 14, 2020

The opening round of the Tannenhof Resort German Men’s Series concluded on Sunday with the play-off matches in Troisdorf and Überlingen.

Daniel Altmaier won the TVM Open held on the clay-courts of the Rot-Weiss Troisdorf tennis club. The 21-year-old from Kempen beat Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in the final. Altmaier pocketed €5,000 in prize money. Maximilian Marterer took the third place with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Nino Ehrenschneider.

More than 1,500 spectators attended the matches in Troisdorf over the past four days but never more than 100 at the same time. “All visitors and athletes followed the guidelines in an exemplary manner,” said organizer Marc Raffel.

World No. 334 Peter Torebko is the winner of the tournament in Überlingen. The 32-year-old defeated Johannes Haerteis 6-3, 6-3. Christoph Negritu edged past Louis Wessels 6-1, 7-6(4) to secure the third place.

The Tannenhof Resort German Men’s Series will continue with the intermediate stage taking place in Großhesselohe, Versmold, Neuss and Oberhaching the week of June 22.
