KITZBÜHEL, July 1, 2020
Following the withdrawal of Frenchman Gael Monfils and Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain and NextGenATP Norwegian Casper Ruud have joined the line-up at the THIEMs7 tennis exhibition, which is scheduled to kick off in Kitzbühel on July 7.
Bautista Agut, last year’s semi-final at Wimbledon and Davis Cup winner with Spain, is currently ranked World No. 12. The 32-year-old from Castellon de la Plana will join Italy’s Matteo Berrettini, Karen Khachanov of Russia and Dennis Novak from Austria in Group “IFA”.
Twenty-one-year-old Ruud, who advanced to the semi-finals of the Generali Open in Kitzbühel last year and captured his maiden title on the ATP Tour at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires in February 2020, has been placed in Group “Soccer Coin” alongside local favourite Dominic Thiem, Andrey Rublev from Russia and Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany.
The group stage will take place from Tuesday, July 7 with a day session (from 1 p.m.) including three matches and a night session (from 6:30 p.m.), in which two matches will be played. The semi-finals will be held on Friday, July 10 followed by the final on Saturday. 500 tickets per session can be sold. These are only available online through the new homepage www.thiems7.com. In the course of the strict Covid-19 measures, there will be no box offices on site. Matches will be broadcast live on Servus TV.
