Nik Razborsek and Manca Pislak clinched the titles at Slovenia’s National Tennis Championships held at the Tennis Club Branik Maribor last weekend.

Razborsek won the men’s final following a 6-2, 6-2 victory over defending champion Matic Spec, who had knocked out top seed Blaz Kavcic in the stage of the final eight. Second favourite Razborsek fought past 16-year-old and TK As Litija club mate Bor Artnak in the semi-finals and continued his good run of form in the title match.

“It feels good to win the tournament here,” Razborsek said after his victory. The 26-year-old is currently ranked World No. 707 and has clinched six titles on the ITF Pro Circuit. His last international title came in 2019 when he lifted the trophy at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 clay-court event in Antalya, Turkey. “It was a pleasure to play on home soil after a long time, although the competition was very tough.”

Manca Pislak took the women’s title. The 22-year-old left-hander defeated Tina Cvetkovic 6-2, 6-4 in the final. “I am happy with my game in the final. I stuck to what we agreed with my coach,” said Pislak, who is currently sitting at World No. 609 in the WTA Rankings.
