M15 Monastir TUN – Thiago Agustin Tirante captures his maiden title

Thiago Agustin Tirante is the winner of this week’s Magic Tours tournament hosted by the Hotel Skanes Family.

The 19-year-old Argentinian, who clinched the trophy at the Under-18-Metropolia Orange Bowl International Championships in 2019, battled past Slovenian wildcard entry Tomas Lipovsek Puches in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Polish Wojciech Marek made the last step to the final by beating Daniil Glinka from Estonia in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

La Plata-born Tirante outpointed his opponent 108-94 to claim a 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 victory in the title match. The final lasted two hours and 53 minutes. The former World No. 1 in the Juniors Ranking has lifted his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Sharm El Sheikh EGY – Gijs Brouwer triumphs in Egypt

The M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament, held at Soho Square, concluded with the title win of Gijs Brouwer.

The Dutch lefty knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Pablo Vivero Gonzalez, who captured the trophy in Sharm El Sheikh last week, in the semi-finals in straight sets.

No. 3 seeded Vladyslav Orlov from the Ukraine advanced to the final with a three-set win against Shintaro Mochizuki, who entered the tournament by his junior ranking. Seventeen-year-old Mochizuko clinched the trophy of the Wimbledon Junior Championships 2019 and was ranked No. 1 in ITF Juniors.

Twenty-four-year-old Brouwer won 82 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match to prevail 6-3, 7-6 in 92 minutes. The Houston, Texas native celebrated his fourth career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
