Daniel Dutra Da Silva Wins São Paulo Tennis Cup

Daniel Dutra da Silva is the champion of the 2020 São Paulo Tennis Cup, a clay-court event part of the Circuito Brasileiro de Profissionais da CBT in Brazil. The tournament was held from December 7 to 13 at the São Carlos Clube in São Carlos, a Brazilian municipality in the interior of the state of São Paulo, 254 kilometers from the city of São Paulo. It offered a total prize money of R$ 20,000.

The 32-year-old defeated Enrique Bogo 6-3, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final. Dutra da Silva also clinched the doubles title alongside Vinicius Saleme. The pair edged past Bruno Figlia and Gabriel Tumasonis 7-6(5), 6-3 on Saturday.

“To win two titles the same tournament had already happened to me on the Pro Circuit. It is a great joy. It was a great week for me,” Dutra da Silva said. “I was able to maintain a good level of tennis during the week. Today I was a little more tired, but it is normal, it is good for my confidence to play a lot of matches.”

The current World No. 562 in the ATP singles rankings has clinched 23 ITF Futures singles titles as well as 23 doubles trophies. Dutra Silva will try to keep us his good run of form at next week’s tournament in São Paulo.

“I have a few days of rest to play the last tournament of the year and that will be great,” the champion said and added: “My idea is to play professional tournaments in February, to travel as much as possible because my goal is to finish in the Top 300.”
