Acting on a proposal by the President of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), Gilles Moretton, the management committee has appointed Amélie Oudéa-Castéra as the new director general of the FFT. She replaces Jean-François Vilotte in the post and will take up her position today.

Amélie Oudéa-Castéra will bring her experience and expertise to bear for the benefit of the FFT. She will have the task of overseeing the strategic roadmap for the “Ensemble Pour un Autre Tennis” (“Together for a New Tennis”) project. She will also be responsible for managing the everyday activities of the FFT’s directors with a view to helping President Gilles Moretton and all the elected members put the federation on a new footing.

A former professional tennis player, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra is returning to the sport she loves. A French U-14 and U-16 champion, she won the U-16s Orange Bowl title and reached the semi-finals of three of the four Junior Grand Slam tournaments in 1993 and 1994. Her highest rankings were 18 in France and 251 on the WTA Tour.

After retiring from tennis in 1996, she embarked on her studies, obtaining master’s degrees in governmental and political science, law, and public administration, as well as an MBA. She then began her career, working as a financial and accounting advisor at the Court of Auditors.

In 2008, she joined the AXA Group, where she started out as head of group strategic planning before becoming chief marketing and digital officer. At the end of 2018, she joined the management committee of the Carrefour Group, where she was head of e-commerce, data, digital and IT for more than two years.

Amélie is also the president of the non-profit organisation Rénovons Le Sport Français, which she co-founded in 2018.
