KITZBÜHEL, June 9, 2021
#NextGenATP stars Carlos Alcaraz from Spain and Lorenzo Musetti from Italy are confirmed to compete in this year’s Generali Open. The ATP 250 clay-court tournament will be held on July 24 to 31 in Kitzbühel, nestled in the Alps in the Tyrol region of Austria.
“Both have performed extremely well in the past few weeks. Long before Paris it was clear to us that we would like to win Musetti and Alcaraz for the Generali Open, of course also in the longer term,” said tournament director Alexander Antonitsch.
In addition to the two youngsters, there is currently a lot of interest from veteran players who do not want to play at the Olympic Games that are taking place at the same time: “Next Monday is the deadline for the Olympics, after that we will have more clarity. But we will be able to offer tennis fans an attractive line-up again,” said Antonitsch.
The organisers plan to hold the event with a full capacity crowd of almost 6,000 spectators. Tickets are now available through the tournament’s official website.
