HALLE/WESTFALEN, September 15, 2021
Newly crowned US Open champion Daniil Medvedev will come to Halle, Westphalia next year. This was announced by the organizers of the NOVENTI Open on Tuesday. The ATP 500 grass-court tournament will be held from June 11 to 19 at the OWL Arena.
Behind closed doors due to coronavirus restrictions, Medvedev made his debut in Halle earlier this season, falling in the opening round to local favourite Jan-Lennard Struff.
“The tournament, the facility and the organization were outstanding, I had great experiences this year – but of course I would have loved to play in front of an audience. That’s why I’m really looking forward to experiencing this unique atmosphere, which my colleagues have already told so much about,” Medvedev said.
The World No. 2 from Russia will be joined in Germany by Swiss maestro Roger Federer, Japan’s Kei Nishikori and his compatriot Karen Khachanov.
