The top two seeds of the Dove Men & Care Legión Sudamericana Challenger Santiago, Argentine brothers Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Francisco Cerundolo, both advanced to the quarterfinals of the $52,080 clay-court event hosted by the Club Deportivo Palestino.
No. 1 favourite Juan Manuel Cerundolo, battled past his compatriot Pedro Cachin 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 on Wednesday. The World No. 103 from Buenos Aires converted seven of his 11 break-point opportunities to secure victory in two hours and 15 minutes.
Nineteen-year-old Cerundolo, who captured his maiden ATP Tour trophy on home soil at the Cordoba Open this year, will next face No. 5 seed Sebastian Baez, who defeated fellow Argentine Juan Pablo Ficovich 6-1, 7-5 after one hour and 17 minutes.

Later in the afternoon, Juan Manuel’s older brother Francisco Cerundolo edged past Hernan Casanova from Argentina 6-2, 7-5. The 23-year-old won 67 per cent of his first-service points and 54 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 30 minutes.
Up next for Cerundolo will be Matheu Pucinelli de Almeida from Brazil, who rallied past Argentine Nicolas Kicker 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the longest match of the day. The encounter lasted two hours and 42 minutes.
