A quartet of Grand Slam title winners, Ana Ivanovic, Flavia Pennetta, Carlos Moya and Cara Black, were revealed as new nominees on the International Tennis Hall of Fame ballot for the class of 2022. They join 2021 holdovers Juan Carlos Ferrero and Lisa Raymond.

The candidates were announced by the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. Thursday. Each nominee is in the player category. There are no nominations in the contributor or wheelchair categories, which come every four years.

• Ivanovic of Serbia won the 2008 French Open singles title and reached World No. 1, a position she held for 12 weeks. She was the runner-up at the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open. Ivanovic also won the WTA Tournament of Champions twice, in 2010 and 2011.

• Pennetta, who became Italy’s first Top 10 women’s singles player in 2009, won the 2015 US Open singles title and attained the World No. 1 ranking in doubles in 2011.

• Spain’s Moya won the 1998 French Open singles title and was a runner up at the 1997 Australian Open. He also reached the quarterfinals at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Moya attained the World No. 1 ranking in 1999. He has been Rafael Nadal’s primary coach since 2016.

• Black, from Zimbabwe, earned 10 major titles in doubles or mixed doubles and was a No. 1-ranked doubles player. By winning the 2010 Australian Open mixed doubles title, Black became the third woman in the Open Era to complete a Career Grand Clam in mixed doubles after Martina Navratilova and Daniela Hantuchova.

• Ferrero of Spain and Raymond from the United States were first nominated for the class of 2021. Players are eligible for three years before being dropped from the Hall of Fame ballot. Ferrero won the 2003 French Open singles title and reached No. 1 in the rankings later that same year. Raymond won 11 Grand Slam trophies in doubles or mixed doubles and was a No. 1-ranked doubles player.

Starting Friday through Oct. 31, fans can vote at vote.tennisfame.com. The top three finishers will receive bonus percentage points for their total count. Balloting by tennis journalists, historians and members of the Hall of Fame will occur in the coming months.

The class of 2022 inductees will be announced early next year. The Hall of Fame ceremony is scheduled to take place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. on July 16.
