World No. 309 Genaro Alberto Olivieri leads the the semi-finals line-up of the Circuito Dove Men Care in Blumenau, Brazil. The No. 3 seed of the $37,520 ATP Challenger Tour 50 clay-court event emerged victorious from the all-Argentine affair with Facundo Juarez, rallying 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-4 on Friday.
Olivieri, who captured two singles titles on the ITF Pro Circuit and is seeking his maiden Challenger crown, sent down four aces and won 74 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after two hours and 40 minutes.
The 23-year-old Bragado native will next face home favourite Igor Marcondes. The fifth seed also came back from a set down to outlast US-American Nicolas Moreno de Alboran, who knocked out top favourite and former Top 10 star Fernando Verdasco in the second round, 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(4). Marcondes won six points less than his rival but secured victory in three hours and 19 minutes.

The bottom half of the draw is dominated by players from Argentina. Teenager Juan Bautista Torres edged out No. 8 seed Facundo Diaz Acosta 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 44 minutes. The 19-year-old from Buenos Aires will next play his compatriot Juan Pablo Paz, who beat fellow Argentine Gonzalo Villanueva 6-3, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and 25 minutes.
In Saturday’s doubles final, top seeds Diego Hidalgo from Ecuador and Cristian Rodriguez of Colombia take on the all-Bolivian combination of Boris Arias and Federico Zeballos. Center Court action will start 10:30 am local time.
