ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam

STARNBERG, February 7, 2022

There will be three more ATP Tour events this week, with some of the world’s biggest stars in action.

Seven of the Top 20 players in the ATP Rankings will compete in the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, led by Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece and Russia’s Andrey Rublev. Former World No. 1 Andy Murray of Great Britain is also in the ATP 500 draw as a wild card.

Del Potro returns to action in Buenos Aires

At the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires, Juan Martin del Potro makes his long-awaited return. The Argentine legend will play a tour-level event for the first time since 2019. In an emotional press conference on Saturday, the ‘Tower of Tandil’ hinted this ATP 250 and next week’s Rio Open presented by Claro may mark his final ATP Tour tournaments. However, he did not definitively announce his retirement.

“It’s possible that this is more of a goodbye than a comeback,” said Del Potro, who is scheduled to open his home campaign against his compatriot Federico Delbonis on Tuesday evening.

Dallas Open to make its debut

The Dallas Open is set for its debut on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Texas, where a slew of US-American stars including Taylor Fritz, John Isner and Reilly Opelka will try to claim the title. The tournament is the only ATP Tour indoor event scheduled to be held in the United States this year.
