SALINAS/STARNBERG, March 16, 2022

Professional tennis will return to the province of Santa Elena in Ecuador for the 2022 edition of the Challenger de Salinas Copa Banco Guayaquil presentado por CNT, which will be held from April 3 to 9 at the Salinas Golf & Tennis Club.

The entry list of the $53,120 hard-court tournament is led by home favourite and defending champion Emilio Gomez. The World No. 141 will be joined by four more Top 200 players: Christopher Eubanks from the United States, Ramkumar Ramanathan of India as well as Argentines Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Nicolas Kicker.

“We continue with our goal of having more Challenger tournaments in Ecuador,” tournament director Andres Gomez said. “It is a great opportunity for our tennis players to compete at home at the highest level. In addition, several Ecuadorian youngsters will have the chance to take their first steps in these kind of tournaments.”

The former World No. 4 and singles champion at Roland-Garros in 1990 will be in charge of the event together with Luis Adrian Morejon.
