M25 Trimbach SUI – Leandro Riedi triumphs on home soil

The Swiss Tennis International Tour by RADO, held at the venue of TC Trimbach, concluded with the title win of local hero Leandro Riedi. 

The 20-year-old Swiss battled past left-handed Johannes Haerteis from Germany in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

British No. 4 seed Alastair Gray knocked out the tournament’s top seed Daniel Masur from Germany in the semi-finals in three sets.

In a one-sided title match lasting 71 minutes, unseeded Riedi won 81 per cent of his first-service points and gained the only four breaks to secure a 6-2, 6-2 victory. The Frauenfeld native, who was ranked No. 6 as a junior and finished runner-up to his countryman Dominic Stricker at the Roland Garros Junior Championships 2020, celebrated his second career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden triumph in Val Gardena last season.

I am very happy to celebrate my greatest career win here in Switzerland. In the final, I served pretty well and returned very offensive without making much mistakes,” Riedi told  former World No. 52 Marco Chiudinelli after the match.

Asked about his goals in the next 12 months, he commented: “It would be great to finish the year in the Top 300 to compete in ATP Challenger Tour tournament and to enter the qualifying of the Grand-Slams events next year”.

M25 Bakersfield USA – Rinky Hijikata prevails in California 

Twenty-one-year-old Rinky Hijikata from Australia clinched the trophy of the M25 Bakersfield tournament, hosted by Bakersfield Racquet Club.

The former junior’s World No. 9 ended the run of 17-year-old qualifier Ethan Quinn from the United States in the semi-finals in three sets.

US-American Keegan Smith made the last step to the final by defeating Bulgarian No. 6 seed Adrian Andreev in straight sets.

No. 3 seeded Hijikata capitalized on three of his five break-point opportunities in the championship match without losing a service-game to triumph 6-1, 7-5 in 85 minutes. The Sydney native lifted his sixth singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Antalya TUR – Oleksii Krutykh wins another title on clay 

Oleksii Krutykh was victorious at the Antalya Series, held at the venue of Club Megasaray in Belek. 

The Ukrainian No. 7 seed cruised past Moez Echargui from Tunisia in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

British No. 8 seed Billy Harris stopped Ukrainian junior entry Viacheslav Bielinskyi, who was ranked junior’s World No. 5 last season, in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Twenty-two-year-old Krutykh gained two breaks and 10 points more in the title match to seal a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory in two hours and 40 minutes. The Kiev native celebrated his second career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second on clay. 

M25 Anapoima COL – Alejo Lorenzo Lingua Lavallen triumphs in Colombia 

Alejo Lorenzo Lingua Lavallen took the title of the Copa BNP Paribas, hosted by Mesa de Yeguas Country Club.

The 21-year-old Argentinian knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Nicolas Mejia in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Ukrainian No. 7 seed Oleg Prihodko made it to the final with a straight-set win versus Evan Zhu from the United States, who played college tennis for UCLA.

Left-handed Lingua Lavallen broke his 24-year-old opponent six times and lost two service games in the championship match to prevail 6-3, 6-0 in 88 minutes. Following his maiden title win in Montenegro last season, the Marco Juarez native lifted his second singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.  

M15 Poitiers FRA – Mattia Bellucci prevails again on hard court 

The Open Masculin 86, held at Stade Poitevin Tennis Club, concluded with the title win of left-handed Mattia Bellucci.

The 20-year-old Italian fought past No. 6 seed Nam Hoang Ly from Vietnam in the semi-finals in three sets.

Qualifier Pierre Delage emerged victorious from the all-French semi-final encounter against No. 2 seed Kenny de Schepper in straight sets.

Busto Arsizio-born Bellucci sent down 14 aces in the title match and withstood 15 aces of his 21-year-old rival to secure a 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 victory in two hours and 35 minutes. The No. 4 seed celebrated his third career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on hard court.

M15 Marrakech MAR – Nicholas David Ionel clinches second title of the season 

Nicholas David Ionel clinched the trophy of the M15 Marrakech tournament, hosted by Tennis Club Palmerais.

The 19-year-old Romanian booked the spot in the final with a three-set win against French No. 4 seed Titouan Droguet.

Frenchman Alexis Musialek cruised past Antonio Cayetano March from Ecuador in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Top seed Ionel converted six of his 11 break-point chances in the championship match to prevail 6-3, 6-2 in 94 minutes. The Bucharest narive, who is coached by former tennis professional Andrei Pavel, lifted his seventh singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second in 2022.

M15 Palmanova ESP – Carlos Lopez Montagud wins maiden trophy on home soil 

Carlos Lopez Montagud is the champion of the Vilas Academy Calvia Open.

The 21-year-old edged out No. 3 seed and fellow Spaniard Carlos Sanchez Jover in the semi-finals in three sets.

Brazilian No. 2 seed Oscar Jose Gutierrez advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus left-handed Diego Augusto Barreto Sanchez. 

Algemesi-born Lopez Montagud gained seven breaks in the title match and lost three service games to claim a 6-1, 7-5 victory after 84 minutes. The No. 6 seed celebrated his first singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Sharm El Sheikh EGY – Samuel Vincent Ruggeri captures maiden title

Samuel Vincent Ruggeri captured the title of the M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament, held at Soho Square, to lift his first singles trophy on the Pro Circuit.

The 19-year-old won the all-Italian semifinal-clash against veteran Francesco Vilardo in straight sets.

Giovanni Oradini, who played college tennis for the Mississippi State University, set the all-Italian final with a three-set victory against Sergey Fomin from Uzbekistan.

No. 8 seed Vincent Ruggeri broke his 24-year-old rival in the championship five times and won 76 per cent of his first-service points to succeed 7-5, 6-1 in 85 minutes.

M15 Monastir TUN – Skander Mansouri triumphs again in Monastir 

Skander Mansouri emerged victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The Tunisian No. 3 seed took the last step to the final by defeating Hanwen Li from China in three sets. 

Arnaud Bovy from Belgium beat Turkish No. 5 seed Yanki Erel in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Twenty-six-year-old Mansouri capitalized on six of his 15 break-point opportunities in the title match to seal a 7-5, 4-6, 6-0 win after two hours and 10 minutes. The Tunis native celebrated his 12th career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his 10th in Monastir.
