KITZBÜHEL, June 9, 2022
World No. 20 Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain and 24th-ranked Frenchman Gael Monfils have joined the entry list of the Generali Open. This was announced by the organizers of the ATP 250 clay-court tournament in Kitzbühel on Thursday.
The duo join the field led by Top 10 stars Matteo Berrettini of Italy and defending champion Casper Ruud from Norway. Home favourite Dominic Thiem will also be part of the line-up in Tyrol.
“Definitely a very attractive player. Tennis fans have always a lot of fun with him,” tournament director Alexander Antonitsch said of Monfils, who will come to Tyrol for the first time.
“By winning the tournament in Adelaide right at the beginning of the season and reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, Gael has shown that the fire in him is still burning.”
The Generali Open Kitzbühel will be held from July 23 to 30. Tickets for the event are available through the tournament’s official website.
