Lehecka Lifts Liberec Challenger Trophy

Top seed Jiri Lehecka delighted his home crowd by winning the title of the Svijany Open hosted by the Liberecky Tenisovy Klub in Liberec. The #NextGenATP star from the Czech Republic defeated Nicolas Alvaraz Varona from Spain 6-4, 6-4 in Sunday’s singles final.

Lehecka advanced to the championship match of the €45,730 ATP Challenger Tour clay-court tournament with wins over Nicola Kuhn from Germany, Sumit Nagal of India, compatriot Vit Kopriva and French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard

The World No. 65 converted four of his six break points and won 54 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 27 minuets.

Lehecka earned his third ATP Challenger career title following his triumphs in Tampere, Finland and Bucharest, Romania last year. He pocketed €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.

Oberleitner/Oswald triumph in doubles

On Saturday, Neil Oberleitner and Philipp Oswald claimed the doubles title. The all-Austrian duo beat Roman Jebavy and Adam Pavlasek from the Czech Republic 7-6(5), 6-2 in the final, which lasted one hour and 18 minutes.

By winning their first team title, Oberleitner and Oswald split €2,670 in prize money and collected 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
