Eduardo Ribeiro has capped his dream week in Recife by winning his first singles title on the Pro Circuit. The 24-year-old Brazilian defeated his compatriot and No. 3 seed João Lucas Reis da Silva from Pernambuco 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s final of the Ano III – Brasil Tenis Classic, an ITF World Tennis Tour M15 clay-court tournament.

Sixth-seeded Ribeiro sent down six aces and broke his rival’s serve five times to prevail after two hours and eight minutes.

“I’m very happy. Right in my first singles final and I already won the title,” the World No. 653 from Santa Catarina said. “I managed to reach a very high level of tennis. I was mentally and physically strong this week. It’s a trophy that crowns my work and the people who support me, my family, my coach. I have no words to describe this feeling. I hope this is just the first of many perfect weeks.”

Ribeiro will stay in Brazil competing in the Brasília do Brasil Tennis Classic next week. He is projected to crack the Top 500 for the first time when the new ATP Rankings will be released on Monday.
