Among the 104 players entered directly into the draw for the men’s singles are the 97 best players in the ATP rankings as of 11th April 2016. Added to these are 7 players with a protected ranking (Juan Martin Del Potro, Florian Mayer, Janko Tipsarevic, Brian Baker, Andreas Haider-Maurer, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Dmitry Tursunov).
Eleven French players go directly into the men’s singles draw: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (9th), Richard Gasquet (10th), Gaël Monfils (16th), Gilles Simon (18th), Benoît Paire (22nd), Jérémy Chardy (33rd), Nicolas Mahut (48th), Paul-Henri Mathieu (58th), Adrian Mannarino (73rd), Lucas Pouille (82nd) and Pierre-Hugues Herbert (95th).
The men’s singles draw is made up of 128 players, so 16 players from the qualifying rounds and 8 wildcards (invitations) will be added at a later date.

In the women’s draw, three players have a protected ranking out of the 108 players entered directly into the draw. They are Laura Robson (GBR), Galina Voskoboeva (KAZ) and Vitalia Diatchenko (RUS).
Of the 108 best players in the WTA rankings, three will not be taking part in the tournament: Maria Sharapova (9th), Flavia Pennetta (12th) and Ajla Tomljanovic (107th).
Four French players go directly into the women’s singles draw: Kristina Mladenovic (28th), Caroline Garcia (45th), Alizé Cornet (48th) and Pauline Parmentier (101st).
The women’s singles draw is made up of 128 players, so 12 players from the qualifying rounds and 8 wildcards (invitations) will be added at a later date.
