Caty McNally has a substantial lead in the Australian Open Wild Card Challenge standings heading into the final week of the women’s Challenge window. The current Top 5  are as follows:

1. Caty McNally (No. 108) — 189

2. Madison Brengle (No. 51) — 161

3. Alycia Parks (No. 120) — 126

4. Claire Liu (No. 60) — 111

5. Peyton Stearns (No. 235) — 100

The Challenge counts ranking points earned from each player’s best three results at hard-court events at the 25 level and above over the last five weeks. Should the player who wins the Challenge earn direct entry into the Australian Open when the entry lists are made on December 5, the wild card will go to the next eligible American in the Challenge points standings. In the event of a tie for the women, the player with the best WTA singles ranking on October 31 will earn the wild card.

The Men’s Challenge begins this week and runs through the week of November 14. The men’s wild card will be awarded to the American with the most ranking points earned from a maximum of three events during the four-week window. All indoor and outdoor hard-court and carpet events at the 25 level and above, including ATP and Challenger events, will be included in the Challenge.

The USTA and Tennis Australia have a reciprocal agreement in which main draw wild cards for the 2023 Australian Open and US Open will be exchanged. Wild card recipients will have to follow all Australian Open protocols as it relates to quarantine or vaccination.
