Schedule Revealed For 2023 Davis Cup Finals Group B In Manchester

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the LTA have today announced the schedule of play for the Davis Cup Finals Group B event in Manchester on 12-17 September.

Group B will be contested by hosts Great Britain, 2022 runners-up Australia, France and Switzerland, with play getting underway at 13:00 BST each day at the AO Arena. Tickets are on sale to LTA Advantage Members from today and will go on general sale from 31 May.

Great Britain fell in the Finals Group Stage in 2022, finishing 3rd in Group D in Glasgow last year, and will be keen to make home advantage count as they bid to reach the Final 8 this time. Australia and France both competed in Group C in Hamburg in 2022, with the Australians progressing to the Final 8 in Malaga and eventually finishing as runners-up, while France finished in 3rd place in the group. Switzerland will make their first appearance at the Davis Cup Finals, having won their last four Davis Cup ties to return to the highest-level of the competition for the first time since 2018.

It will be the first time Manchester has hosted Davis Cup action since July 1994 when Great Britain played Romania at the Northern Lawn Tennis Club.

The full schedule of play for Group B is as follows:

Tuesday 12 SeptemberFrance v Switzerland (14th Davis Cup meeting; France lead rivalry 10-3)

Wednesday 13 SeptemberAustralia v Great Britain (14th Davis Cup meeting; Australia lead rivalry 8-5)

Thursday 14 SeptemberAustralia v France (17th Davis Cup meeting; Australia lead rivalry 11-5)

Friday 15 SeptemberGreat Britain v Switzerland (5th Davis Cup meeting; Great Britain lead rivalry 3-1)

Saturday 16 SeptemberAustralia v Switzerland (6th Davis Cup meeting; Australia lead rivalry 4-1)

Sunday 17 SeptemberGreat Britain v France (24th Davis Cup meeting; Great Britain lead rivalry 13-10)

The news follows Wednesday’s announcement of the Group C schedule in Valencia which features hosts Spain, Serbia, Czechia and Korea Rep.

Elsewhere in the competition Italy, reigning champions Canada, Sweden and Chile will contest Group A in Bologna and Group D will feature hosts Croatia, Netherlands, USA and Finals debutants Finland at a venue to be announced in due course.

The Group Stage events will be played in a round-robin format with the top two teams in each group progressing to the Final 8 in Malaga (21-26 November).
