Edoardo Lavagno and Fabian Marozsan are the finalists of the Internazionali di Tennis Città di Perugia | G.I.Ma. Tennis Cup. Italian wild card entry Lavagno advanced to his first final on the ATP Challenger Tour after battling past fifth-seeded Frenchman Alexandre Muller 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday.

The World No. 289 capitalized on four of his six break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 49 minutes.

“I’m experiencing some very strong emotions. A few days ago I lost my grandmother, I couldn’t go to the funeral but I think she is happy,” an emotional Lavagno said after his win over a Top 100 player.

Later in the afternoon, Marozsan knocked off top seed Pedro Cachin of Argentina 6-4, 6-3. The No. 7 seed saved the only break point he faced and converted three of his own five break-point opportunities to succeed in one hour and two minutes.

Lavogno, a winner of five titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour, is seeking his first triumph on the Challenger Circuit. Maraozsan could lift his third Challenger career trophy, his second of the season after winning in Antalya, Turkey in March. Marozsan won the only previous meeting between the two in the quarterfinals of the ITF M15 event in Zilina, Slovakia two years ago.
